The Coat of Arms
Azure, a tau cross or charged with a tau cross gules; the fess surmounted with a captain's wheel between two olive tree branches; the pale, with three fleur-de-lis or, and accompanied, on the dexter, of three lily flowers or, and, on the sinister, of three stalks of wheat tied, of the last.
The drawing includes a "Tau cross" corresponding to a gallows and at the same time to the letter "T", subdividing the emblem in two parts which contain the other elements. Placing the fess at the top and doubling the taus provides an impression of space and perspective and allows the slender elements like the flowers of the lily to be placed in appropriate places, thus providing the coat of arms with a sense of balance and proportion
The Motto
Armorial bearings serve as a catalyst linking unity and harmony, and encourage us to think and reflect upon our own existence. Our motto, "Faithful, Loyal, Just", should be thought upon in this way. Our ancestor, Olivier
Le Tardif, saw his life guided by these three principles, which in turn inspired his numerous descendants, and which were transmitted to all Tardifs of America as a spiritual inheritance.
